Hello ā€œDā€ Division Parents

Hello “D” Division Parents,

My name is Chris Dominello, and I will be coaching your son this Spring in our “D” Division.  I coached K-2nd for several years with the Warrington Warriors when my oldest son played there and now he plays for C-1 at ALC.  This year I'm thrilled to have my youngest son starting to play in the “D” Division with your son.

My primary goal for this season is to create a fun atmosphere that will encourage your son to WANT to come back each week.  I will incorporate games during practice that allow the boys to practice skill sets while having fun.   My secondary goal, regardless of experience level, is to focus heavily on learning the proper fundamentals of ground ball pickups, cradling the ball, passing, catching and shooting on goal!   And last, but not least, we will look to teach good sportsmanship and to be good teammates.

I am also looking for a few volunteers to help coach this season.  From experience, when you have 20 boys 5-8 years old on a team they tend to lose focus when they aren’t engaged.  Especially when they are standing around too long waiting for their turn to practice a skill set.  To avoid this scenario, I would like to break them up into groups so they get more reps.  This is where assistant coaches would be very helpful!

A couple notes…

Practices will be Friday evenings from 6:00-7:30PM and Saturday afternoons from 12:00-1:30pm. Location for all practice will be the Abington Junior High fields (unless we change for a specific reason). Our first practice will be Friday, April 13th.  [This is different from an earlier email you received]

Format for Saturdays will culminate in scrimmages for the players. We are also looking at play days with one or two of the local associations. Full equipment is required: stick, helmet, gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads, cup, mouth guard. Cleats recommended (football, soccer or lacrosse--just not baseball)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting you and your son.  If you have any equipment questions, or questions in general, please feel free to reach out!

Thanks again for signing up and helping us build a strong ALC Family for the future!

Sincerely,
Chris Dominello
